Description

The Jubilee Wing, also known as the Assembly Hall Block, at Gloddaeth Hall is a high two-storey L-plan building dating from the late 19th century. It features stone rubble walls and a slate gabled roof, with some brickwork present in the rear wing.

On the south-west elevation, there are three late 19th-century mullioned window openings made of ashlar on the first floor. The middle window has four lights with a transom, while each outer window has three lights. Above the central window is a half-timbered gable. The ground floor openings are modern insertions from the 20th century, including a doorway at the northern end and three fixed windows with small panes, framed by informal concrete and brick architraves.

At first floor level, there is a concrete framed doorway with a high segmented relieving arch above it, along with fire escape stairs. Towards the south end of the south-west elevation, a two-storey crosswing has lower eaves. The south-west gable end features a bargeboard and finial, and there is a possible late 19th-century canted oriel bay window on brackets on the first floor. Below this bay window, there are two 20th-century windows flanking a stone plaque that reads "Restored/in commemoration/of her majesty/Queen Victoria's/Diamond Jubilee 1837-1897".

On the south-east return of the crosswing, there is a doorway at the upper level, which is topped by a half-timbered gable and accessed by a high flight of stone steps with stone walled balustrades. The upper level of the south-east gable end of the main wing is lit by stone windows in a Gothic style, featuring three lancet lights. The rear wing is at right angles to the main structure and has six dormers.
