Description
The Crown Inn is a two-storey building with a simple Georgian front, dating from the 18th century. It features painted render with incised coursing and simplified pilasters. The steep slate roof has two tall brick chimneys and boarded eaves. There are six windows with replacement sashes that include small glazing bars, and the left side has deeper reveals. The centre first-floor window surround is vertically linked to the doorcase below, which has an open pediment with fluted pilasters over an arched fanlight, although the door itself is modern. On the right side, there is a carriage arch with an ironwork gate leading to a cobbled yard entry, along with a decorative scrolly bracket.
