Description

Rhydycar Skew Bridge is a three-arched bridge constructed of sandstone and brick. It features a large elliptical arch in the center, flanked by round-headed arches on either side, separated by thin, tapering piers. The central arch is made of red brick with five courses, while the side arches have three courses each. The piers, walls, and wings are built from bullnosed sandstone. The walls curve smoothly from the wings to the apex, which is situated below the level of the embankment above. Additionally, there are three round-headed relieving arches with prominent stone voussoirs that connect the central arch to the side arches.
