Description

Rhydycar Canal Bridge is a canal bridge made of coursed rubble sandstone that spans a deep cutting. It features a central elliptical arch with dressed voussoirs, standing approximately 6.7 meters high at the center and having a span of 5.5 meters. The bridge has wing walls that support the sides of the cutting at a 45-degree angle to the crossing. On the east side, there is a smaller arch with a span of about 0.9 meters, which is positioned at a higher level and appears to have been added later, likely in the early 19th century.
