Description
The memorial to Evan and James James is located in Ynysangharad Park and is designated as a grade II* structure. It features two bronze figures dressed in Celtic robes: a man holding a harp, symbolizing music, and a woman representing poetry. These figures are set on a base made of pennant stone sourced from Craig yr Hesg, which includes memorial inscriptions in both English and Welsh, along with a bronze tablet that displays low relief portrait busts of the two men. At the back of the memorial is a date stone. The base is elevated on a stepped plinth, in front of which lies the enriched saddleback grave slab of Evan James. In front of the memorial, there are two low square piers and a steel grille, leading to approach steps that are flanked by a dwarf wall and square piers, all constructed from rock-faced stone with rock-faced copings. The paved approach is decorated with a Celtic cross inlaid in stone.
