Description
This is a canopied stone drinking fountain, built in 1895 and restored in 1981. It features relief panels adorned with Celtic interlace ornament. The base is square and has projecting bowls on each side, which include relief inscriptions on their undersides. At the northern side, there is a date panel indicating its erection and restoration. The fountain has attached square shafts at the corners that support the canopy. Each side of the canopy displays a trefoiled arch and a half-hipped roof that rises to a low shaft base. Atop this base is an iron lamp shaft, decorated with entwined serpents and combatant beasts. The corners of the canopy are embellished with sculpted goats' heads.
