Description
The entrance gates and piers at Tonyrefail School are a pair of rusticated red brick piers topped with pale grey stone capitals and moulded capstones. The capitals are engraved with the words 'Secondary' and 'School' on the left and right sides, respectively. The piers have brick bases with chamfered stone copings. Between the piers, there are double iron gates featuring decorative scrollwork on the top rails, dog rails, and sides. Each gate has a roundel in the center displaying the Glamorgan shield, which features three chevrons. Flanking the main entrance are smaller piers that match in style and materials, each with a single gate designed to complement the main gates.
