Description

Blaengwawr Farmhouse, which is attached to Blaengwawr House, is a farmhouse built from limewashed stone with some alterations and additions in brick. It features a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. The building has two storeys and a double-pile plan, with an attached farm range at the rear.

The front of the house, facing the garden, has a series of cambered-arched 6-pane sash windows: three on the first floor and two on the ground floor, positioned on either side of a centrally located doorway, along with an additional ground floor window at the left end. The elevation facing the farmyard displays two gable ends, which are taller and wider at the rear, with a two-window range, including one window in the lower gable end.

There is a single-storey bay attached to the farmhouse that has a blocked doorway, connecting the house to the two-storey farm range. The farm range features two very small-pane windows on each storey and five blocked arched openings at ground level, which were likely used for hens. The gable end of the farm range includes a cambered arched doorway and window.

The interior of the farmhouse is currently derelict, with the ground floor reported to be on three separate levels. The linking bay, known as the saddle room, once had a fireplace, with the flue incorporated into the hen-house, which has a white-washed and lofted interior.
