Description
Ty-du is a farmhouse that includes a former byre and stable, primarily constructed of stone rubble and covered in roughcast, with a Welsh slate roof and end stacks. The attached range is limewashed and features a corrugated roof. The building is two storeys high and has a slightly asymmetrical front with three windows that contain 6/6 pane casements. The ground floor features a central gabled porch that is accessed from the side. To the front right, there is a wall that extends along the bank of the reen. At the rear, there is a single-storey, three-bay storage range with a slate roof and a lean-to on the left. The farm range to the right includes two doorways, one of which has a stable door, and a window next to the house that has three small ventilation slits at eaves level. There is also a rear doorway and a cambered headed boarded opening.
Inside, there is a wide central hall with an older unit leading off to the right. The former open fireplace has been modified, with stairs to the right converted into a cupboard. The cross beams in this area are chamfered and stopped.
