Description
The entrance gates, gatepiers, and wall of Insole Court are made of pennant stone rubble with freestone dressings. A dwarf wall with ramped coping supports cast iron railings on both sides of a concave entrance leading to the carriage drive. This entrance is flanked by octagonal stone piers topped with pyramid caps. The gates are mounted on smaller cast iron piers of a similar style, but the gates themselves are made of mild steel and were installed after World War II. The nearby contemporary lodge has undergone significant alterations and enlargements.
