Description
The gatepiers and wing walls at Insole Court were built from squared, coursed rock-faced Radyr sandstone, featuring Bath limestone ashlar dressings. There are two square piers topped with a machicolated cornice and stepped caps. One pier displays the family crest of a griffin with a shield, while the other does not have this feature. Curving walls on either side of the carriage drive are capped with ashlar coping and create a bridge that carries the drive over a small ravine.
