Description
The gate piers, gates, and wall located about 50 yards south-east of Caradoc Court are likely from the mid-19th century. They are constructed from finely cut limestone ashlar, squared sandstone, and wrought iron. The inner piers that support the gates are taller and feature square-section piers that rise to a dentilled cornice, with curved bases that hold egg-shaped finials that are fluted on the bottom half. The lower piers have similar detailing. The central two-leaved gates curve upwards towards the center and are adorned with elaborate scroll-work. There is a single gate between the two left piers, which is of a similar design but smaller. The right-hand piers are connected by a rock-faced sandstone wall with coping. It is noted that the gate piers were described as 18th century in a previous listing.
