Description

The garden balustrade, gates, and steps immediately south of Caradoc Court date from the mid-19th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature cast-iron gates. The design has a hippodrome plan with apsidal ends to the east and west, and the steps are located on the south side. To the west apse, there are gates and gate-piers. The balustrade is interrupted by square piers and has a moulded cornice. The gate-piers are square in section and have dentilled cornices beneath curved bases that support oval finials. The gates are two-leaved, topped with pointed finials above the top rails, and when closed, they create five wheel motifs with rosettes in the centers.
