Description
Church Cottage is a pair of cottages designed in the Cottage Orne style. They are constructed from rubble with dressed stone dressings, featuring a steep-pitched roof covered in fishscale tiles, although some tiles have been replaced with plain ones. The roof is adorned with terracotta coxcomb ridge tiles and has overhanging eaves. The left side has a stepped stone external gable stack, while the center has a long narrow cross-ridge stack, and the right end features paired angled brick chimneys.
The cottages are single storey with an attic, and the main elevation faces the garden. Each cottage has a gabled dormer above a central plain doorway that is topped with a hood, with fishscale tiles retained on the left side. Ground floor windows are positioned on either side of the door and have slightly cambered arched heads, although all the glazing has been replaced. The rear elevation facing the lane has similar but smaller dormers and back doorways with flanking windows, along with a single storey lean-to on the left side. The cottages have a battered plinth. They have been converted into maisonettes.
