Description
Green Isha Farm is a symmetrical three-window, three-storey house dating from the 18th century. The exterior is rough-cast over masonry with a slate roof and two masonry end stacks. The central doorway features a gabled porch and a half-lit door. The window openings have flat heads and stone sills, with the second-floor windows blocked and rendered over. The first floor has three over six pane hornless sash windows, while to the right of the front door is a 12-pane hornless sash window, and to the left is a multi-pane window. The west gable end has a casement window at first floor level, offset to the left. At the rear, there is a large continuous outshut with a stone stack and very small lights.
Adjoining the east end of the house is a stable block with an attic, constructed of masonry under a slate roof. It features three doorways with blocked openings above, all having segmental arched heads and voussoirs. A higher unit has been added to the east end, which includes a high loft opening to the front and is said to have been a dovecote with a storeroom underneath.
The interior was not accessible at the time of inspection on December 9, 1997, but it is said to contain a central stair-hall with a Georgian-style staircase and flanking rooms, a large 17th-century fireplace in the west gable wall with a stair to its north, and deeply chamfered beams.
