Stable Court W Range at Ewenny Priory (house)

Stable Court W Range at Ewenny Priory is a symmetrical rectangular building dating from 1871. It is constructed of snecked rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a hipped Welsh slate roof with stone-bracketed overhanging eaves. The building is single storey and consists of five bays. The central bay has a tall elliptical arched carriage entrance with an oculus above, which rises to form a short tower topped with a pyramidal roof. The eaves are at the ridge level of the main range, and there is a former louvred ventilator finial with a pyramidal cap. An inscription reading "TPT 1871" is located over the lintel.

On each side of the central bay, there are two doorways with boarded doors, flanked by two small windows featuring metal-framed small panes, all with cambered heads. The stable doors and ventilation grilles serve the loose boxes. The rear of the building has a pediment that incorporates a round arched pitching door. Attached to the rear are lean-tos and a cross range that includes a two-storey building with blue and red brick dressings, which was formerly an apple store. This area also contains a single-storey wing that houses a large bellows, a brick forge, and a chimney. Extending to the south is a wall that completes the enclosure of the Stable Court.

Inside, the building is lime plastered and limewashed, with a stable tile floor. It comprises two loose boxes on the right, a paint shop, and a feed store on the left, with a carriage recess in the centre.
