Description

The sundial at St Donat's Castle is made of sandstone and limestone. The steps and base appear to be limestone, while the shaft and top are sandstone. It is designed in the style of a 15th-century pillar piscina. The sundial features an octagonal base with two moulded steps and a double moulded base stone. The octagonal shaft has moulded sunk panels, and the top is adorned with eight panels of leafwork carving. It has a plain gnomon.
