Description

The fingerpost at the junction of High Street and Glyn Street is a cast iron direction post. It features a tapered round column with a moulded base, a necking band, and a cyma moulded capital. Mounted on sleeves above the capital are two rectangular direction plates that indicate the directions to Bridgend and Nantymoel. The column is inscribed with the lettering "TONDU ENG WORKS" and "O & G / U D C." At the top, the column is capped with a stilted ball finial.
