Description

This is a cast iron finger post located at Pont Newydd in Trecastle. It dates from the 20th century and features three indicator arms. The post is banded in black and white, with raised black lettering on a white background. The top arm points south, indicating "CRAY 2 ½ / DEFYNOCK 3", while the lower arm points east marked "TRECASTLE ½" and the arm pointing west reads "PONT AR HYDFER 1 / CWMWYSG 2". The post is topped with an annular inscription that says "BRECON COUNTY". There is no visible foundry marking on the post.
