Description
Nolton Cottage is a late Georgian building that stands three stories high with a three-window main front, flanked by two-storey stucco ranges. To the right, there is an in-line two-window front, and to the left, a two plus two window front that projects forward. The building features slate roofs and rendered brick chimney stacks, with boarded eaves on the right side. The main range has an advanced parapet and cornice, with the central bay slightly protruding.
There is a two-storey pitched roof rendered porch, now serving Garth Celyn, which has a stone gable parapet and a hoodmould over a half-glazed former main entrance. Later ground floor extensions have been added to either side. The main range and the right side have tripartite sash glazing with voussoir lintels, while the left side features mostly small pane sash glazing with a cill band on the later range.
The open-pedimented porch of Nolton Court has a half-glazed door accessed through ironwork gates topped with finials. Nolton Cottage has its own pitched roof porch, along with an additional porch next to garage outbuildings at the end of a narrow drive on the left, which is entered between bull-nosed rubble gate piers. The right end wall is finished in cement render and has two sash windows and a modern porch. The rear displays similar architectural details, with a central gable and modern additions.
