Description

Wellingtonia is a two-storey, three-unit cottage built of rubble stone with a thatched roof. The left unit is a 19th-century addition. An original stone chimney stack is located to the left of the center, with a corbelled stack added to the left gable end in the 19th century. The front of the cottage is painted white. The doorway, positioned to the left of the main stack, features a stone segmental head and is flanked by wide bow windows that were inserted in the late 20th century. There is another inserted window further to the right. On the upper storey, there are two two-light casements beneath eyebrow arches. The left gable end has a snecked stone stack that rises above a corbel table, positioned above the eaves. An upper left casement has been inserted. At the rear, there is a lean-to addition in the center, with two lower-storey windows and one upper-storey window that were replaced in the late 20th century in earlier openings to the left. To the right of the lean-to, there is one late 19th-century casement window on the lower storey.

Inside, the gable-end entry to the original house remains next to the fireplace, which has an inserted lintel. To the right of the fireplace is the staircase, which features a doorway with a stone Tudor head and a stop-chamfer surround at the angle. The staircase is made of stone and has a cross-slab roof.
