Description
The former gate and lodges to Gnoll House is an early 19th-century Gothic gate tower situated between two octagonal lodges. The stonework is laid in narrow courses with stressed quoins and a plinth. The central rectangular entrance tower features a crenellated parapet above a continuous band and a pointed arched gateway with a recessed inner arch, now fitted with modern iron gates.
The single-storey octagonal lodges mirror the tower's crenellations and bands and have slated octagonal roofs. They include windows at the front and rear, with slightly cambered stone voussoirs, returned labels, and stone sills, along with modern timber shutters. Blocked doorways that once provided access to the gate passage are also present, featuring stone voussoirs.
