Description
The kiln block at the former Bryn Brickworks is a long, low structure with battered brick walls, featuring a pair of intermittent downdraught kilns that are currently in a ruinous condition, with vegetation growing on the upper surface. The south wall includes a recessed bay with two wide arched openings leading to the kiln chambers; both arches are partially blocked and have narrower lintelled doorways added. To the left of the recessed bay, the south wall has three arched stoke holes and wickets, with one featuring a later lintel, while to the right there are two wickets and stoke holes. The corners of the wall are chamfered, and there are additional stoke holes present. The west and east end walls each have one stoke hole and one wicket. The north wall contains five stoke holes and seven wickets. Each kiln features an L-shaped tunnel-vaulted chamber.
