Description
Pont Gam is a high single-arched bridge made of coursed sandstone. The bridge features a segmental arch with a tooled arch ring. On the southeast side, there is a rounded and stepped cutwater, located where the Neath and Tennant Canals meet. To the southwest, a ramped approach is set at an angle with the parapet, which is corbelled out over the abutment on the east side.
On the north side, the parapets curve out at acute angles and are also corbelled out over the abutment on the west side. The parapets descend to water level and retain much of their original flat stone coping, although some sections have been partly renewed with concrete, particularly on the east side.
