Description
The Aberdulais Aqueduct is a canal aqueduct featuring ten bays, constructed from coursed rubble stone with dressed stone segmental arch rings. The arches vary in span, being wider in the center. On the upstream side, there are V-shaped cutwaters topped with pyramidal caps. Towpaths run along both sides of the aqueduct. The coping consists of both stone and brick. At the western bank, the aqueduct leads into a lock, while at the eastern end, it has a cast iron trough with stone coping, which crosses over a former navigable channel before entering the Aberdulais Basin on the eastern bank.
