Description
The Brynamman War Memorial is a cenotaph made of polished pale grey granite, featuring darker grey granite plaques. It stands on a two-step plinth with an ogee top moulding and has a tall pedestal that includes a large inset plaque at the front, topped with a moulded cornice and frieze. The memorial is crowned with a sarcophagus that has its own plinth, a raised plaque at the front, a cornice, and a pyramid capstone. The sarcophagus bears the inscription '1914-1918 Rhag anghofio o honon'. The main plaque commemorates the local boys from Brynamman who lost their lives in the Great War, with the inscription 'Cofeb serch ardalwyr Brynamman iw bechgyn a gollod eu bywyd yn y Rhyfel Mawr' above two columns of names.
