Description

Jims Barber Shop and 207 is a two-storey, three-bay domestic pair, featuring a taller cross-gable for the shop on the left side. The building has slated roofs and a brick gable-end stack, with plain bargeboards. The exterior includes pale hammer-dressed quoins and window and door surrounds, as well as an arched blue brick attic window in the front gable, and thinly coursed bull-nosed facings.

The shop has an eye-catching two-storey frontage on the left, which includes an upper three-light display window with fine arched and mullioned lights set in a pilastered timber surround, topped by a pair of swan-necked volutes. The timber sill rests on flashings beneath an overall moulded fascia of the ground floor shop, which is flanked by bold pilasters topped with block end brackets featuring rosettes and gablets, with swan-neck volutes on the right side only. The recessed central doors have arched glazed panels and a tall fanlight, with a tiled threshold.

The right side of the building has a plainer two-window elevation, featuring an original four-pane sash window on the ground floor and a four-panel door. The property has not been inspected.
