Description
Cwm Cottage is a two-storey cottage dating from 1693, facing south. It is built of roughcast rubble stone and has a 20th-century tiled roof with rendered end stacks. The front features three windows, which are irregularly spaced, with two-light multi-pane wooden casement windows set in rendered surrounds that have keystones on the lower storey. To the left of the center is a flat-headed planked door, flanked by windows, with an additional window to the right. The upper storey windows are under shallow eye-brow dormer heads. Below the central window, there is a small date-stone inscribed with "H / EM / 1693."
To the left end, there is a late 20th-century two-window extension that includes a further end stack, similar windows, and eye-brow dormers. The west gable end features half-lit French doors with sidelights, offset to the right of the stack. The rear elevation has four late 20th-century wooden windows on the ground floor and three raked half-dormers above, which also contain two-light casement windows. The right extension has two windows and a planked door to the left, and it appears to incorporate part of an earlier single-storey structure made of brick and stone.
Access to the interior was not available at the time of inspection on July 7, 1999.
