Description
Lloyds Bank is an example of Edwardian classicism, featuring three storeys and an attic with a five-bay facade. The building is constructed from Portland stone and has a slate roof with tall gable end stacks. The outer bays are advanced and banded, showcasing giant Corinthian half-columns that frame the recessed central bays. A bracket cornice supports a balustraded and panelled parapet, which is echoed over the ground floor. The facade includes moulded architraves and swagged aprons that connect the outer storeys, while the central first-floor windows are adorned with pediments featuring cherub panels. The ground floor is rusticated, with cavetto-arched openings and keyblocks, and retains its original tripartite glazing with radiating fanlights, along with double doors positioned to the left.
