Description
Belgrave Gardens is a two-storey terrace of eight houses. Houses numbered 2 to 8 are finished in stucco and feature pilaster strips, while No 1 is a later addition made of exposed grey-brown stone with bathstone dressings. The roofs are slate, although Nos 2 and 7 have modern tiles. Houses 3, 4, 5, and 8 have flat-roofed dormers. The terrace has a parapet that is pierced to create a balustrade over the entrances, along with a bracketed cornice and rectangular yellow brick chimneys.
Nos 2 to 7 consist of three mirrored pairs of four-window arrangements, with doors grouped at the centre and slightly recessed. On the first floors, there are narrow sash windows in the centre and broader sash windows, which have marginal glazing in Nos 4 to 7, on the left and right. The doors, mostly original panelled doors with inserted glazing, have rectangular overlights and are set back in recessed porches with dentil cornices and columns. Each door is flanked by flat-roofed splayed bays.
No 8 is a larger double-fronted house in the same style but features modern glazing. No 1, made of stone, has a tripartite hornless sash window on the left and a hornless sash window on the right on the first floor. The ground floor entrance doorway on the right has a pedimented stone doorcase and a rectangular overlight, with a splayed bay to the left. To the right, facing Belgrave Lane, there is a large 12-pane hornless sash window, two small windows at the eaves, and a 16-pane hornless sash window on both the first and ground floors, along with a doorway leading to an extension with a monopitch roof.
