Description

Belgrave Gardens is a two-storey terrace of eight houses, with Nos 2-8 finished in stucco and featuring pilaster strips. No 1 is a later addition constructed in exposed grey-brown stone with bathstone dressings. The roofs are covered in slate, although Nos 2 and 7 have modern tiles. There are flat-roofed dormers on Nos 3, 4, 5, and 8, and a parapet that is pierced to create a balustrade over the entrances, along with a bracketed cornice. The chimneys are rectangular and made of yellow brick.

Nos 2-7 consist of three mirrored pairs of four-window arrangements, with doors grouped towards the centers, which are slightly recessed. On the first floors, there are narrow sash windows in the center and broader sash windows on the left and right, with marginal glazing on Nos 4-7. The doors, mostly original panelled types with inserted glazing, feature rectangular overlights and are set back in recessed porches that have dentil cornices and columns. Each door is flanked by flat-roofed splayed bays.

No 8 is a larger double-fronted house designed in the same style but with modern glazing. No 1, made of stone, has a tripartite hornless sash window on the left and a hornless sash window on the right on the first floor. On the ground floor, the entrance doorway to the right features a pedimented stone doorcase and a rectangular overlight, with a splayed bay to the left. To the right, facing Belgrave Lane, there is a large 12-pane hornless sash window, two small windows at the eaves, a 16-pane hornless sash window on both the first and ground floors, and a doorway leading to an extension with a monopitch roof.
