Description

Belgrave Gardens is a two-storey terrace of eight houses, with Nos 2-8 featuring stucco facades that are highlighted by pilaster strips. No 1 is a later addition constructed from exposed grey-brown stone with bathstone dressings. The houses have slate roofs, although Nos 2 and 7 have modern tiles, and there are flat-roofed dormers on Nos 3, 4, 5, and 8. The terrace has a parapet that is pierced to create a balustrade above the entrances, along with a bracketed cornice. Rectangular yellow brick chimneys are present.

Nos 2-7 consist of three mirrored pairs of four-window arrangements, with doors centrally grouped and slightly recessed. On the first floors, there are narrow sash windows in the center and broader sash windows on the left and right, with marginal glazing on Nos 4-7. The doors, which are mainly original panelled doors with inserted glazing, feature rectangular overlights and are set back in recessed porches that have dentil cornices and columns. Each door is flanked by flat-roofed splayed bays.

No 8 is a larger double-fronted house designed in the same style but with modern glazing. No 1, made of stone, has a tripartite hornless sash window on the left and a hornless sash window on the right on the first floor. The ground floor features an entrance doorway on the right with a pedimented stone doorcase and a rectangular overlight, along with a splayed bay on the left. To the right, facing Belgrave Lane, there is a large 12-pane hornless sash window, two small windows at the eaves, and a 16-pane hornless sash window on both the first and ground floors, along with a doorway leading to an extension with a monopitch roof.
