Description
Belgrave Gardens is a two-storey terrace consisting of eight houses. Houses numbered 2 to 8 are finished in stucco and feature pilaster strips, while house number 1 is a later addition made of exposed grey-brown stone with bathstone dressings. The roofs are covered in slate, although houses 2 and 7 have modern tiles. The terrace includes flat-roofed dormers on houses 3, 4, 5, and 8, and has a parapet that is pierced to create a balustrade over the entrances, along with a bracketed cornice. Rectangular yellow brick chimneys are present.
Houses 2 to 7 are arranged as three mirrored pairs of four windows each, with doors grouped at the center and slightly recessed. On the first floors, there are narrow sash windows in the center and broader sash windows on the left and right, with marginal glazing on houses 4 to 7. The doors, mostly original panelled with inserted glazing, have rectangular overlights and are set back in a recessed porch that features a dentil cornice and columns. Each door is flanked by flat-roofed splayed bays.
House number 8 is a larger double-fronted house in the same style but has modern glazing. House number 1, made of stone, features a tripartite hornless sash window on the left and a hornless sash window on the right on the first floor. On the ground floor, the entrance doorway on the right has a pedimented stone doorcase and a rectangular overlight, with a splayed bay to the left. To the right, facing Belgrave Lane, there is a large 12-pane hornless sash window, two small windows at the eaves, a 16-pane hornless sash window on both the first and ground floors, and a doorway leading to an extension with a monopitch roof.
