Description

A formal gateway to Penrice Castle park. The gateway consists of two sandstone piers carrying the gates. The piers are square, about 3.5m apart, heavily rusticated and vermiculated. Tall plinth with base moulding. Small cornice. The finials are stone elongated globes on thin hollow stems, each with a thin vermiculated mid-height band. The globes and cornices have been restored. The gates are plain, in wrought iron, with dog railings.
