Description

Old Cottage is a single-storey building with two windows and a central door, situated in the grounds of Underhill Cottage. It faces south, with its rear positioned close to the hillside of Nicholaston Woods. The cottage is constructed of rubble stonework, which is painted white. Notably, the fireplace stonework on the west gable differs from the general stonework of the cottage. It has an artificial slate roof featuring exposed rafter ends and cemented verges, along with a small brick chimney on the left side. The door is vertically boarded, and each window consists of two eight-pane lights, supported by timber lintels and brick sills. There is a loft opening in the right gable, and a small outbuilding is located to the left.
