Description
64 Walter Road is a 19th-century terraced house constructed of stucco, featuring a channelled design on the ground floor. The house has horned sash glazing, although the bay window at No. 61 has been replaced. The roof is slate and hipped to the left, but the slate has been replaced with tiles at Nos. 62 and 63. Brick chimneys are present, although one has been lost between Nos. 62 and 63.
The house is two windows wide and has a two-storey splayed bay window on the right, which features volutes at the angles and wrought-iron rails adorned with trefoils and pinnacles, although these have been lost at Nos. 64 and 65. On the left, there is an open porch that has been lost at No. 65, which originally had classicising pillars and a dentil cornice. Above the porch, there is a blind window, but No. 62 has a sash-glazed window with a moulded surround and pediment.
On the top floor, there are two sash windows, each with moulded surrounds. The return to the left of the terrace (No. 61) has a basement constructed of brown rubble. The front block has two windows, with the left window featuring stained glass. To the right, there is a second-floor sash window, a first-floor oriel with iron cresting, a ground-floor blind window, and a basement with a sash window to the right and paired windows to the right. The lower block to the left (rear) has two sash windows on each floor, with the top-floor windows offset to the left, along with a basement doorway and sash window.
