Description
63 Walter Road is a 19th-century stucco building with a channelled design on the ground floor. It features horned sash glazing, although the bay window of the adjacent No 61 has been replaced. The building has slate roofs that are hipped to the left, but at Nos 62 and 63, the slate has been replaced with tiles. There are brick chimneys, though one has been lost between Nos 62 and 63.
The house has two windows across its front, with a two-storey splayed bay window on the right, which has volutes at the angles and wrought-iron rails decorated with trefoils and pinnacles, although these features are lost at Nos 64 and 65. To the left, there is an open porch that has been lost at No 65, which originally had classicising pillars and a dentil cornice. Above the porch, there is a blind window, but No 62 has a sash-glazed window with a moulded surround and pediment.
On the top floor, there are two sash windows with moulded surrounds. The return to the left of the terrace (No 61) has a basement made of brown rubble, with a block at the front that has two windows. The left window features stained glass, while the right has a second-floor sash window, an oriel window with iron cresting on the first floor, a blind window on the ground floor, and a sash window to the right in the basement, along with paired windows to the right. The lower block to the left (rear) has two sash windows on each floor, with the top-floor windows offset to the left, as well as a basement doorway and sash window.
