Description
62 Walter Road is a 19th-century stucco building with a channelled design on the ground floor. It features horned sash glazing, although the bay window at No 61 has been replaced. The building has a hipped slate roof, which has been replaced with tiles at Nos 62 and 63, and brick chimneys that are missing between Nos 62 and 63.
The house has two windows across its front, with a two-storey splayed bay window on the right that has volutes at the angles and wrought-iron rails adorned with trefoils and pinnacles, although these features are lost at Nos 64 and 65. On the left side, there is an open porch, which has been lost at No 65, supported by classicising pillars and topped with a dentil cornice. Above the porch is a blind window, but No 62 has a sash-glazed window in this position, framed with a moulded surround and a pediment.
On the top floor, there are two sash windows, each with moulded surrounds. The return to the left of the terrace, which is No 61, has a basement made of brown rubble. The front block has two windows; the left window features stained glass, while the right side has a second-floor sash window, a first-floor oriel with iron cresting, a ground-floor blind window, and a basement window to the right, along with paired windows. The lower block to the left at the rear has two sash windows on each floor, with the top floor windows offset to the left, as well as a basement doorway and sash window.
