Description
65 Walter Road is a 19th-century stucco house featuring a channelled ground floor. The property has horned sash windows, although the bay window at No. 61 has been replaced. The roof is slate, hipped to the left, but at Nos 62 and 63, the slate has been replaced with tiles. There are brick chimneys that have been lost between Nos 62 and 63. Each house in this row is two windows wide, with a two-storey splayed bay window on the right, which has volutes at the angles and wrought-iron railings adorned with trefoils and pinnacles, although these features have been lost at Nos 64 and 65. To the left, there is an open porch, which has been lost at No. 65, supported by classicising pillars and topped with a dentil cornice. Above the porch is a blind window, but at No. 62, this is sash glazed and has a moulded surround with a pediment. On the top floor, there are two sash windows with moulded surrounds. The return to the left of the terrace (No. 61) has a basement made of brown rubble; the block at the front has two windows, with the left one featuring stained glass. To the right, there is a second-floor sash window, a first-floor oriel with iron cresting, a ground-floor blind window, and a basement with a sash window to the right and paired windows to the right. The lower block to the left (rear) has two sash windows on each floor, with the top-floor windows offset to the left, along with a basement doorway and a sash window.
