Description

The Bank of Lime Kilns, located on the north side of the canal near Lime Kiln Cottage, is a long structure made of red-brown stone. It features an arrangement of alternating pairs of round-arched kilns and smaller camber-headed chambers. Although the bank of kilns is heavily overgrown, it appears to consist of, starting from the eastern end, two round-headed chambers followed by two camber-headed chambers, then another two round-headed chambers and two camber-headed chambers, followed by two more round-headed chambers and a smaller opening. After a very overgrown section, there are two additional round-headed chambers near the western end.
