Description
The farm courtyard at Aberbran Fach consists of three sides of farm buildings made from whitewashed rubble stone with slate roofs. The long southern range features a roof that is half-hipped to the west and hipped at the southeast angle. The northern front has double full-height barn doors on the extreme left, followed by two large panels of whitewashed pierced brickwork, with the left panel extending further down than the right. The right half of this range includes a central square loft opening and a door to the right on the ground floor.
The eastern range serves as a barn on the right, featuring full-height double doors and two long ventilation loops on each side. To the left, there are outside stone steps leading to a loft door, which is positioned low due to the slope of the ground. The northern end gable has a square boarded loft window above a large segmental arched cart entry, which is framed by stone voussoirs.
The western range has a slightly lower ridge and an asbestos sheet roof. It includes two boarded loft lights above five doors with timber lintels. The northern end wall features a boarded loft opening with a timber lintel. The rear of the western range has a door on the far left and two widely spaced small windows, along with a loft opening to the right of center. A straight joint at the western end of the main range indicates that this western range is the earlier structure. The half-hipped western end of the main range has two large arched cart entries separated by a stone pier and framed by stone voussoirs, with a cambered-headed loft window above.
