Description
The lime kiln located at the rear of Llandyfan is a large structure made of rubble stone, built into a steep bank. It features a broad and high front with curved angles. There is a single broad high arch at the front, which has lost its original stone voussoirs. Inside, there is a set-back double arch with a pier in between, leading to two small kiln openings at ground level that curve back and diminish in size. Recent removal of trees, overgrowth, and buildings below has uncovered the crucible, which is partly infilled, and has revealed that the front wall has been undermined due to previous leveling of the farmyard below.
