Description
No. 9 Pendre is part of a group of cottages that also includes Nos. 10 and 11. These cottages date from the 19th century and feature painted roughcast exteriors with slate roofs. Each cottage has two bays, with No. 11 at the south end of the row having a projecting wing that adds an additional bay's width. The cottages are complemented by 19th-century garden railings and gates, which are set on an ashlar base. The railings have uprights that are looped at the top in pairs, with standards at intervals topped with urn finials.
For Nos. 9 and 10, the doorways are arranged in a pair. Each cottage has two square windows on the first floor and a window in the outer bay on the ground floor. No. 9 features modern small-pane casements and a modern door, while No. 10 has sash windows that are three panes wide and a six-panelled door with the upper four panels glazed.
