Description

The building is a former school and school house designed in the Gothic style, constructed with stone walls and a slate roof. It is raised above street level on an embankment that is enclosed by stone retaining walls. The former school house is two storeys high and consists of three bays. Some of the windows feature columned mullions. At the north end, there is a wider gabled bay with a window that has two pointed-headed lights, a columned mullion, and a pointed relieving arch on the first floor. Below, there is a flat-arched window with three lights and columned mullions. The middle bay contains a doorway with a pointed head. The southern bay has a single sash window above and a flat-arched window with two lights and a columned mullion below.

There is also a one-storey wing at the south end that connects the former school house and school, featuring two windows and a ledged door in its front wall. This wing is accessible from the pavement via a flight of stone steps. The former school block has a gabled roof oriented on an east-west axis, with a gabled end facing Pendre that includes a bargeboard and a belcot. It has a window with two cusped-headed lights and a cinquefoil above. The south elevation features gables with three tall transomed two-light windows that have cusped heads, quatrefoils, and dripstones. The window in the east gable mirrors that of the west. There is a block at right angles that includes a broad doorway.
