Description

The Old Post Office is a house and former shop dating from the early 20th century. It features unpainted roughcast with unpainted stucco dressings in contrasting colours, topped with a slate roof. The building has a roughcast left stack with a yellow and black brick top, which it shares with Church House, and a smaller red brick stack at the right end.

It is two storeys high and has a three-window range of sashes with marginal glazing bars. The centre features a panelled door with an overlight. On the ground floor to the left, there is a shopfront made of painted timber, with a fascia that continues over the centre house door. The shopfront has panelled piers with console brackets on each side, as well as one on each side of the house door, topped with a continuous cornice. The shopfront includes a 6-pane shop window and half-glazed double doors with an overlight, featuring coloured glass in the margins of the door glazing. Both the shop and house doors are recessed within panelled reveals.

Additional early 20th-century stucco details include brown window surrounds with keystones, a sill band with an inset band of small modillion brackets, and an eaves band. There are angle piers on each floor with pale grey inset fluted panels. A letter-box marked "ER" is located to the ground floor right.
