Description

The forecourt walls, piers, gates, and railings of Watergate Baptist Church are notable features from the 19th century. The low stone walls are topped with ashlar coping, while the gate piers are chamfered and have heavy coping. The iron railings, added later in the 19th century, complement the structure. The central gates have uprights that rise alternately to the locking and top rails, and they are topped with finials. Additionally, there is an attached rubble wall that returns at right angles to the chapel.
