Description

4 Watergate is a row of four three-storey buildings, numbered 4, 5, 6, and 7. Nos. 4 and 5 feature convex facades. The buildings have a slate hipped roof with overhanging eaves. No. 6 is finished in pebbledash, while Nos. 4 and 5 have scribed render, and No. 7 has smooth render. There is a band at the first floor sill level, along with end pilasters and a plinth. The second floor has square six-pane hopper windows, and the first floor features twelve-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, Nos. 5, 6, and 7 each have a tripartite small-pane sash window, with No. 6 having a moulded architrave. The doorways are located to the left in Nos. 5 and 7, and to the right in No. 6.

No. 4 has a reproduction early 19th-century shopfront on the ground floor, which includes a half-glazed door set between two small-pane shop windows, all enclosed by pilasters and topped with a fascia and cornice.
