Description

Nos. 8 and 9 Watergate are a pair of houses that date back to the 19th century. They feature a rendered exterior with a plinth and have three windows in total. The elevation facing Watergate is three storeys high, topped with a slate roof and brick chimney stacks.

No. 9 has two window bays and is finished in pebbledash. The window openings lack architraves, and it has four-pane sash windows, with a tripartite sash window on the left side of the ground floor. Stone steps lead up to the central doorway, which is framed by a wooden doorcase that includes an architrave, pilasters, a frieze, and a modillion cornice. The windows in the left gable end have modern glazing.
