Description
The Cartshed at Abercynrig is a two-storey outbuilding constructed from rubble stone and topped with an asbestos sheet roof. It features five elliptical-arched cart entries supported by stone square piers with raised imposts. Above the central arch, there is a long loft door, and on either side, there are wide rectangular openings fitted with closely spaced diamond-shaped wooden bars, without sills. A loft window is located in the south end gable, which overlooks the yard entry, while the rear west side has no windows.
The loft floor has been removed, leaving four beams exposed. The structure includes four tie beam and collar trusses. In one corner, there is a large rubble stone cider mill, which consists of a circular basin with oak coping and a channel lined with yellow brick. A stone wheel is mounted on an arm that extends from a central upright post.
