Description
Nos. 8 and 9 Wheat Street are a pair of houses dating from the 19th century. They are three storeys high and have three windows across the front facing Wheat Street. The houses are finished in stucco, featuring decorative bands at the second and first floor levels, along with a plinth. The roof is slate and has a modillion cornice.
On the second floor, there are small sash windows. The first floor has a blind centre window, with a 12-pane sash window on each side. The ground floor features paired doorways in the centre, which are flanked by narrow fluted pilasters and topped with a cornice; the doors are panelled. On either side of the doorways, there are reinstated 12-pane sash windows.
